Nov. 25, Friday – The French design show “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” at the Wolfsonian Museum, 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach. The party for the exhibit is on Friday, Dec. 2. Go before the Basel crowd hits town you will avoid the crowds.
Nov. 26, Saturday – the opening of Inventory 2, curated by Thais Fontenelle with work by Paul Clemence, Lemon Yellow, Luis Pons, Michelle Weinberg, and others. There is an open invitation to come to the vernissage, from 7 to 11 in the Buena Vista Building, aka 180 NE 39th Street. The show runs through Dec. 4

Monday, Nov. 28 Remember when the kickoff to Art Basel was the vernissage on Wednesday night? Then Design Miami began having its vernissage on Tuesday night. For the last few years, Ornare, the Brazilian design center in the Design District, has opened its Tastemaker Showcase on Monday night. First, let's mention that the Brazilians really know how to party. And that this year, with all of the Brazilian galleries and artists in town, and with the Brazilian Thais Fontenelle having opened her show, Inventory 02, on Saturday night, around the corner, this should be some wing-ding. However, it is by invitation only, starting at 8 pm, and there's not only an RSVP, there's an entrance ticket.
